I have a cheap bare wood guitar neck – can I put linseed oil on it?
Electric guitar, just a cheapy back up guitar project I have.. I know I can varnish it, but I have some linseed oil here already, will that do the job?

I prefer the tone of lacquer and also the feel. You can use linseed oil to finish the back and headstock. Tung oil is better.
The fretboard should be wiped several times with lemon oil. Don’t use linseed oil on the fretboard.
