Bundy Selmer Get answers from millions of real people.?
I am trying to sell an alto saxaphone. Selmer Company is written on the case and “Bundy” is written on the saxaphone. The number on the sax is 1000490. It has many scratches on it. I bought it about 6 years ago when my daughter wanted to play it in band. She only played it for one year and it has been in the case since. Our school is buying used instruments. What would a fair price be? I would greatly appreciate a response from anyone who knows about this
An original vintage magazine ad print from the year published. Print ads make unique gift items that can be framed as artwork. Shipped flat un-framed in plastic sleeve with backing board….
The name speaks for itself. Though Selmer-Paris is known for its exceptional instruments, mouthpieces are an even larger part of the company’s business. Their complementary knowledge of both instruments and mouthpieces coupled with their high level of craftsmanship result in what many players consider the world’s finest mouthpiece line….
Used Selmer Hi, I am wondering what mouthpiece should be used for an alto sax in a highschool band.?
Q: I have a Selmer Series III. It is a professional sax but I am not sure what kind of mouthpiece to get. I recently upgraded from a Student Model, and have no idea what brand, or number mouthpiece i should get. Thanks
A: There is no “right” answer. While the guy above did recommend Selmer, which is a dependable brand, it may not be what you want. I would recommend that you go and try as many mouthpieces until you find one that gives you the tone that YOU want. That would also be something to consider, is what tone are you aiming for? I personally don’t care for selmer because I never get the tone I want. Go try mouthpieces to find one that you like.
Also, the reed is made to match the facing of the mouthpiece (space between the reed tip and mouthpiece tip). A soft reed is for a larger facing, and a hard reed is for a smaller facing. A hard reed doesn’t work well in a large facing, and vice versa. Once you choose your mouthpiece, then experiment with reeds to find what strength and brand works for you. Again, this is different for every player, so experiment.
Vintage Selmer THE VALUE AND YEAR MADE ON THIS HENRI SELMER SERIES CLARINET?
Q: This vintage clarinet is really pretty. Stamped into the wood is Henri Selmer, series 9.DEPOSE, France. It appears to be made of rosewood with silver banding and keys. Serial # W7210. Does anyone know when is was made? Or where I can find that out. And the general value of this clarinet?
oops! That was a SERIES 9.
It is made from Grendilla wood.
A: Selmer Paris Series 9 W7210 was made in 1971
The Series 9 was a top-of-the-line professional model by Selmer Paris and it’s likely grenedilla wood (dalbergia sp.) which is very closely related to rosewood.
Depending on condition and sound – an average Series 9 should bring about $1000
One with exceptional tone and in pristine condition could push near $3000. One needing extensive repair would bottom at about $400 (parts value).
These are very popular with doublers that play primary saxophone as they match the Selmer Paris saxes in design features.
