Do-it-yourself Tips to Prevent and Cure Dry Hands
Having chapped and dry hands are the usual problems that most women face. The drying of the hands occurs due to the lack of moisture in the skin because of the dry and cold weather. Another cause of dry hands is the frequency of washing the hands. Some people usually are fond of washing their hands or due to the nature of their work. Some hand soaps and detergents are very strong for some skin types.
Also, there are treated waters to make them cleaner and safer to use. The chemicals used can also damage the skin by decreasing the water content of the skin. There are many do-it-yourself solutions to cure dry hands. The usual ingredients for this can be seen inside your kitchen.
There are times that the dryness of the skin is due to genetic causes and skin disorders like eczema. This needs to be medicated through a physician. There are ointments and light treatments available that can be prescribed by your doctor.
Tip: During winter, avoid washing your hands with hot water. Use lukewarm water only. Your skin can tell if the water is too hot for you (once your skin turned red).
Tip: Use gloves when going out during winter. Cold weather adds to the dryness of the skin.
Tip: Use mild and hypoallergenic soaps when washing your hands.
Tip: Use the sugar and oil solution. Mix three tablespoons of sugar and one tablespoon of oil (vegetable, olive, almond, or any oil will do). Rub into your hands for 5 to 7 minutes then rinse with warm water.
Tip: Use
Tip: After washing your hand, you can put your favorite oil and Wrap Your hands with thin towel and old socks. Wait for 5 minutes before removing the socks and the towel.
Tip: Use moisturizers especially after washing your hands and patting them dry. Moisturizers help trap the water in the skin surface. So better have moisturizers beside the sink and another one in your bag.
Tip: Avoided exposing your hands to water when working. Use gloves as much as possible to prevent your hands from overexposure in water.
Tip: Avoid overexposure to sunlight. Too much sunlight can really cause dryness and making your hands look aged.
Tip: Let your hands rest after a long work done. Massage can also be helpful to remove stress in your hands.
Tip: Drink adequate water and not lots of water. Some people have the misconception of drinking more water would hydrate your body and your skin. This is a no-no. Drink only up to 2 liters a day to have a healthy and glowing skin.
There are many cures for dry hands. So be diligent to cure them before it is too late. Unprotected dry hands can cause severe pain and itchiness so better cure them at once. There’s no harm in protecting your hands; hence, it will make them healthier and free from itch. Choose the best moisturizer for you, the one you’re not allergic to. This can be your number one friend to fight skin dryness. Remember that your hands are the most used parts of your body aside from your feet. So better take care of them.
