How can I fit my slash epiphone goldtop and strap in it’s case?
Q: I just won a slash epiphone goldtop in a contest, I put the strap on and guess what! It doesn’t fit in the case it came with with the strap on. It fits without but not with it. It’s really annoying and I want to put it in it’s case by tomorrow b/ my band is rehearsing tomorrow.
A: Never put a guitar in a case with a strap on it. Depending on the finish of the guitar and the material the strap is made of, your guitar could become scratched.
Your case SHOULD have a little compartment in it that is at least big enough to put your strap in. Taking the strap on and off is not only a hassle, but it will slowly wear out the holes on the strap. One minute, you’ll be standing up and rocking out, and the next, your guitar will be on the ground, all scratched up. Buy a set of strap locks. I have them on all of my guitars, and it makes taking the straps off very easily. I have a set of ProLines on my Les Paul and 335, and Fenders on my Strat. Both work great, and I feel secure knowing that my guitars will stay where I want them.
